Ke$ha thanks fans for continued support from rehab
Pop star Ke$Ha has reached out to fans online to thank them for their well wishes as she continues to battle an eating disorder in rehab.
The Tik Tok hitmaker checked into the Timberline Knolls clinic in Illinois to receive treatment just after the new year (14), and she has asked a friend to convey her gratitude for her devotees' continued support in a message on her Twitter.com page.
The note, posted online on Tuesday (21Jan14), reads: "This is
Kesha's friend. She asked me to tweet an update for her because she
doesn't have access to twitter right now. she says 'THANK YOU. SOOO
MUCH. I'm overwhelmed to tears by all of the love, letters, and
support!! I'll be back soon and better than ever.'"
Ke$ha's mom, Pebe Sebert, recently revealed her daughter, who has
struggled with anorexia and bulimia for years, had been gravely ill
when she turned to professionals for help and could have died if
she had waited any longer to seek treatment.
She told People magazine, "(Doctors) told me her blood pressure and
sodium were so low they'd never seen that, except with someone
who'd had a heart attack. They'd said it was a miracle she hadn't
already dropped dead onstage."
Sebert subsequently joined Ke$ha as a patient in the same medical
center in a bid to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder.
