Katy Perry ends Thicke's summer run at number one
Katy Perry has roared to the top of the Billboard pop charts, ending Robin Thicke's summer-long reign at number one.
Thicke's Blurred Lines spent 12 weeks on top, but now Perry has returned to number one with Roar, which she performed live to close the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Aug13).
The song lands the pop star her eighth chart-topper but it looks
like it will be there for a short stay as Eminem rockets into the
top five at three with his comeback single Berzerk.
Meanwhile, on the Billboard 200 album chart, rockers Avenged
Sevenfold claim the top spot after debuting Hail to the King at
number one with 159,000 first-week sales.
Luke Bryan's Crash My Party falls a spot to two after spending two
weeks on top, while rappers Big Sean and Juicy J enter the top five
at three and four with Hall of Fame and Stay Trippy,
respectively.
