Katie Holmes tries something new every day

Actress Katie Holmes is forcing herself to tackle a new task every day as she adjusts to life as a single woman.

The Batman Begins beauty split from her husband Tom Cruise in June (12) and their divorce was finalized last month (Aug12).

Holmes has already lined up a slew of new projects, including the first outing of her Holmes & Yang clothing collection at New York Fashion Week next Wednesday (12Sep12) and another stint on Broadway in November (12), and it's all down to her new outlook on life.

The star tells fashion publication Women's Wear Daily she has opened herself up and in no longer "afraid to fail", adding, "Who cares? At least you tried. It's usually the people who haven't tried who are the naysayers."
