Kate Hudson linked to Derek Hough after Matt Bellamy split

Kate Hudson has reportedly embarked on a new romance with dancer Derek Hough after ending her engagement to British rocker Matt Bellamy.

A representative for the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star confirmed the split news on Monday (08Dec14), revealing the actress and the Muse frontman have been "separated for some time now".

The statement continued, "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."

Now sources tell Us Weekly magazine the mother of two has moved on to date Dancing With the Stars professional Hough after they were allegedly spotted kissing while enjoying a night out at Los Angeles' Nice Guy restaurant on Friday (05Dec14).

The blonde beauty's publicist has yet to comment on the latest romance claims.

Meanwhile, Bellamy has thanked fans for their support following his broken engagement, insisting "it's for the best".

The singer, who has a three-year-old son, called Bingham, with his ex-fiancee, was all smiles as he stepped out in London with his bandmate Dominic Howard on Tuesday night (09Dec14), and he later reached out to his Twitter.com followers to express his gratitude for their kind messages.

In the tweet, his first in a month, the singer wrote, "Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album..."

Muse are working on a new, stripped down project set for release next year (15).

Bellamy and Hudson began dating in 2010 and became engaged in 2011.

The actress is also mom to 10-year-old boy Ryder, her son from her six-year marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson.
