Kate Bosworth visits Ground Zero on 9/11

Actress Kate Bosworth paid an emotional visit to Ground Zero in New York City on Tuesday (11Sep12) to remember the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The actress, who is in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week, headed to the site where the Twin Towers once stood to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the tragedy with thousands of other Americans.

She took to her Twitter.com page to post a photo of the new One World Trade Center skyscraper, which will be the third tallest building in the world when it is completed next year (13).

Bosworth writes, "At ground zero today. My heart is with the heroes and families. Proud of the strength and resilience of this country... We will always honor our fallen heroes."

Almost 3,000 lives were in the 2001 al-Qaeda terrorist attacks.
