Kanye West has stepped up to save London's Wireless Festival by playing a double headline set to fill in for sick rapper Drake.
The Started From The Bottom hitmaker has pulled out of his top-lining set at the London event and its sister show in Birmingham, England over the weekend (04-06Jul14) after falling ill.
West, who was booked to perform at the London show on Saturday
night (05Jul14), has agreed to take Drake's Friday night (04Jul14)
slot to play at the event on two consecutive nights.
He then heads to Birmingham to perform there on Sunday (06Jul14),
marking his third Wireless performance of 2014. Dance stars
Rudimental will extend their Friday night slot at the Midlands
event to cover for absent Drake.
The Canadian star, who has also axed a performance at Denmark's
Roskilde festival on Sunday, has apologized to fans in a statement,
which reads, "To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I
won't be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this
weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to
bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not
physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and
deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery.
I have the best fans in the world and I can't wait to come back to
make more incredible memories together."
