Kanye West postpones Australian tour
Rapper Kanye West has postponed his upcoming Australian tour so he can focus on completing his next record.
The Stronger superstar was set to kick off the seven-date trek in Perth on 2 May (14), but he has now pushed the shows back until September (14).
The delay is to enable West to finish his next studio album.
A statement from tour promoter Live Nation reads: "Due to
unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new
studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully
announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in
Australia."
The new run of shows will commence on 5 September (14).
It is the latest disappointment for fans waiting to catch West on
stage - his Yeezus tour has been hit with a string of delays and
cancellations, including the axe of his German tour dates last
month (Mar14). He also scrapped a series of shows in North America
in October (13) after his equipment was damaged in a road
accident.
