Kanye West nominated for 17 BET Hip Hop Awards

Rapper Kanye West is poised to dominate the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards after landing 17 nominations.

The Stronger hitmaker took the lion's share of honors when the nominees for the annual music ceremony were announced on Wednesday (12Sep12).

He will compete in categories including Producer of the Year, Director of the Year, Hustler of the Year and Lyricist of the Year, for which he will face competition from his Watch the Throne collaborator Jay-Z.

The duo's hit song N**gas in Paris is up for Track of The Year and Best Club Banger, while West was nominated twice in the Best Live Performer category - as a solo act and also with partner Jay-Z.

Other multiple nominees include 2 Chainz (13) and Drake (11).

The ceremony, to be hosted for the third time by comedian Mike Epps, will air on 9 October (12).
