Kanye West impresses college leader with community service
Kanye West has received a glowing review from the Dean at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, where the rapper completed his 240 hours of community service for beating up a photographer.
The Dean was more than impressed with Kanye's service, telling the judge overseeing his punishment and probation he worked over and above the hours he was committed to.
In court on Tuesday (15Sep15), the rapper's lawyer, Blair Berk,
presented a letter from the Dean, which read in part: "The
contribution of the hands-on community service Mr. West has
completed with our school has been of great benefit to our students
and program."
According to the letter, Kanye served a total of 262 hours. During
his stint at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, he gave a
motivational speech to fashion students, telling them, "It's a
tough world out there. You're going to prepare yourself for
politics, bad bosses, hating employees, and usually when you're the
absolute best, you get hated on the most."
Kanye is still on informal probation for attacking paparazzo Daniel
Ramos outside Los Angeles International Airport in 2013.
He was convicted of misdemeanor battery and sentenced to two years
of probation, anger management sessions, and 250 hours of community
service.
Kanye has since apologized to Ramos.
