Kanye West facing protest petition over Glastonbury slot
Kanye West is facing opposition over his performance at Britain's Glastonbury Festival after an online petition was launched calling for him to be dropped from the line-up.
The Stronger hitmaker is to headline the iconic Pyramid stage in the festival's coveted Saturday night slot on 27 June (15), and the news caused a storm on social media after it was announced on Monday (16Mar15).
One disappointed ticketholder subsequently created a petition on
Change.org calling for West's headline slot to be cancelled. A
message posted on the campaign page reads, "Kanye West is an insult
to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to
attend glasto (Glastonbury), and by doing so, expect a certain
level of entertainment... Lets prevent this musical injustice
now!"
The petition had garnered more than 5,000 supporters as WENN went
to press.
Foo Fighters will also headline the festival, which runs from 24-28
June (15).
