Kanye West attacks Wiz Khalifa for criticizing album name change

Kanye West unleashed a furious attack on Wiz Khalifa on Wednesday (27Jan16) after misinterpreting a reference to marijuana as a swipe at his wife Kim Kardashian.

The two first clashed on Tuesday (26Jan16) after the Stronger superstar announced he had changed the name of his highly-anticipated new album from Swish to Waves.

Wiz took issue with the term as it has become associated with the melodic style of music made by incarcerated MC Max B.

"Please don't take the wave," he appealed to Kanye on Twitter. "Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him. He's the reason I sing on all my songs. That's the wave. If theres nothing wit that sound ITS NOT WAVY (sic)."

Kanye did not respond directly, but on Wednesday, one of Wiz's tweets caught his eye after the marijuana aficionado posted, "Hit this kk and become yourself" - a reference to his own strain of weed, called Khalifa Kush.

Kanye thought Wiz was taking a shot at his reality star wife Kim, who is famed for her leaked sex tape, and he launched into a foul-mouthed rant aimed at the Black and Yellow rapper on social media.

"Bro first of all you stole your whole s**t from (fellow rapper Kid) Cudi," he wrote as he began reeling off 17 reasons why Wiz shouldn't question his album title. "Second, your first single was corny as f**k and most there after... no one I know has ever listened to one of your albums all the way through..."

Kanye then blasted his ex-girlfriend, former stripper Amber Rose, who went on to marry Wiz and give birth to his son, Sebastian, before splitting in 2014.

"You let a stripper trap you," he taunted. "I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years... I showed you respect as a man when I met you. You wouldn't have a child if it wasn't for me."

"don't ever come out the side of your neck at me (attack me)," he warned, adding, "Don't even hint at mentioning me my family or my wife I am your OG (original gangster)".

Kanye ended the rant by thanking Wiz for the "extra promotion" for his album, and insisted, "What's sad is I love Wiz and I love all my brothers and all people... This album is actually a Gospel album... Good energy positive energy (sic)".

Wiz didn't waste any time in firing back: "KK is weed fool," he clarified. "Reason's why your not wavy. Go bacc to Swish (sic)."

Kanye has since realized the error of his ways and took steps to make amends for his unexpected outburst - but stood firm on keeping Waves as his album title.

"Ima (sic) take these (tweets) down cause it's all about positive energy," he later posted. "blessings blessings positive energy blessings (sic)".

"I'm happy that I now know that KK means weed...," he added. "please excuse the confusion ... now back to #WAVES"
