Justin Timberlake to perform at the Eurovision Song contest final
Justin Timberlake will be the first global pop star to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday (14May16).
The Mirrors singer will be the first non-contestant global superstar to perform on the Eurovision stage when he entertains the audience at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden during the interval of the live final with his new song Can't Stop the Feeling.
Show producer Sven Stojanovic says, "This is a fantastic
opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake
will perform his new song together with his band in our show. It
makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and
Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with
Justin Timberlake."
Justin made his music comeback after an almost three-year hiatus
with Can't Stop the Feeling on Friday (06May16). The song was
produced for his upcoming animated movie Trolls, in which he voices
a character and serves as executive producer for the film's
soundtrack.
"The soundtrack is shaping up to be pretty special," he said on
radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Friday. "I’ve never done
anything like this and, I don’t know, I feel like all the music for
the soundtrack just came out kind of feeling like this. It’s kind
of become this really sort of like joyous occasion."
Working on the soundtrack, which features Gwen Stefani and Ariana
Grande, has inspired him to start on another album, the follow-up
2013's The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2, but he admits it's in "such
an infant stage right now" that he has no idea when it will be
released.
The singer is already in Europe, and he made an appearance at the
BAFTA TV Awards in London Sunday night (08May16) with Trolls
co-star Anna Kendrick to present an award.
