Justin Bieber takes a selfie with restaurant manager after photo ban
Justin Bieber's self-imposed fan selfie ban didn't last long - the pop star posed for a photo with a steakhouse manager a day after insisting he'd never 'say cheese' again.
The Sorry superstar was in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday (10May16) during a two-night concert stint when he agreed to mug for a snap with a STRIP by Strega restaurant boss.
The photo left many fans puzzled as just a day earlier, after being
hounded by the public while out and about on Tuesday (10May16), the
singer took to Instagram and urged fans to quit pestering him for
snaps and selfies during his down time, because it made him feel
like a "zoo animal".
He continued, "I realize people will be disappointed but I don't
owe anybody a picture. and people who say 'but I bought ur (sic)
album' know that you got my album and you got what you paid for AN
ALBUM! It doesn't say in fine print whenever you see me you also
get a photo."
Justin defended his no-selfie stance in an exchange with an
Instagram follower on Wednesday (11May16), insisting he needed to
set "boundaries" to prevent the onset of insanity as he struggles
to deal with the pressures of fame.
However, the 22-year-old appeared to be in a happier mood after his
gig that night, when he headed to the STRIP by Strega restaurant in
the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and sat drinking alone at the bar
chatting with a bartender.
"He was super nice and chatty with guests," a representative for
the restaurant told People.com. "He hung around outside for a
little bit, chatting with the managers, then went back in and waved
goodbye to everyone, and everyone went crazy."
The spokesperson also revealed Justin took the time to shake owner
Nick Varano's hand and thank him for his hospitality, while he even
ignored his own rule and posed for a 'selfie' with one of the
eatery's managers.
Reports suggest Justin then headed to the city's Storyville
nightclub, where he was caught on camera dancing on the bar while
smoking a cigarette, according to People.
His late-night antics didn't stop there - sources claim his driver
took Justin and a group of girls to Boston Public Garden in the
early hours of Thursday (12May16). It was Justin's second stop at
the park that day. He was spotted sitting in a tree at Boston
Public Garden, while he also hung out in the Bristol Lounge at the
Four Seasons hotel, where he asked to hold a fan's baby.
The child's mother told People, "His bodyguards were all trying to
keep people back and saying, 'No photos', and Justin turned and saw
me there with the baby. He was like, 'I'll hold the baby, let me
hold the baby', and reached out for him. He was totally normal and
very, very sweet. I think he was so overwhelmed with all the women
there..."
Justin has yet to comment on his antics in Boston. He will now head
home to his native Canada, where he is due to continue his Purpose
world tour in Ottawa on Friday (13May16).
