Justin Bieber shows off huge new tattoo
Justin Bieber has shocked his fans after debuting a huge tattoo covering his entire chest and stomach.
The 23-year-old singer, who has more than 60 tattoos, revealed his latest dramatic inking on Instagram on Saturday (21Oct17) in a selfie and a video. The artwork covers his whole torso, and features gargoyles, skeletons and archways.
The tattoo also appears to incorporate the image of a bald eagle he got back in March (17), and connects the pieces he previously had inked on his chest, including the head of a grizzly bear, the head of a lion, a large gothic cross, and the year 1975 in Roman numerals as a tribute to his mother.
New York City-based celebrity tattoo artist Keith 'Bang Bang' McCurdy documented Bieber's large inking on Instagram, showing a photo of himself working on the chest piece in what appears to be the musician's backyard.
"@justinbieber Thank you for the trust," he captioned the shot. "26 hours over 3 consecutive days is the most I've ever tattooed anyone in my 13 year career. You're tough as nails man!"
Fans were quick to comment on the Love Yourself hitmaker's new ink, with many sharing their displeasure at the dramatic tattoo.
"Just so awful," wrote one devotee, while another commented: "omg (oh my god), you just ruined your body."
However, not everyone disapproved of the ink, with one fan coming to Bieber's defense, writing: "It's his body, his skin, his decisions... every tattoo he's ever done has a meaning and he loves them... you HAVE TO respect him and his decisions."
The fresh tattoo comes months after Bieber he scrapped the remaining 14 dates on his world tour back in July (17), citing "unforeseen circumstances". He later told fans he was taking time out to ensure his life and career was "sustainable".
