Justin Bieber sentenced to community service and anger management in egging case
Justin Bieber has been ordered to serve five days of community service and undergo an anger management course after pleading no contest to an egging attack on his former neighbour's California home.
The pop superstar was arraigned in court on Wednesday (09Jul14) on a charge of misdemeanor vandalism following the incident in January (14), when he reportedly hurled eggs at the property, which was located near his own pad in a gated neighborhood in Calabasas.
The singer was not present for the hearing, but his lawyer entered
the plea on his client's behalf.
As part of a deal with prosecutors, Bieber was placed on two years'
probation and given community service, while he was also sentenced
to complete 12 weeks of anger counseling, with at least one class a
week.
In addition, Bieber must pay his neighbor $80,900 in restitution
and stay at least 100 yards away from the victim and his family,
reports TMZ.com.
Police had initially estimated the damage to be worth $20,000 , but
the judge revealed the repairs to the "dream house" had cost more
than four times as much.
Bieber moved out of the Calabasas mansion shortly after the egging
incident and sold the property to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian
in March (14).
