The 21 year old's comeback track What Do You Mean? set a new streaming record on Spotify on Thursday (03Sep15), with 21 million streams in just five days, and now the hit has propelled Bieber to the top of the Official U.K. Top 40 Singles Chart with a huge 84,000 sales.
The track has gone to number one in a total of 90 countries,
including New Zealand, Ireland and Sweden, and the singer expressed
his gratitude to fans on Twitter on Friday (04Sep15), writing,
"Thank you. Means a lot".
Meanwhile, last week's U.K. chart topper, Fight Song by Rachel
Platten, slips to two, ahead of The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face at

Bieber's fellow Canadian The Weeknd also flies high in the U.K.
album countdown after debuting Beauty Behind the Madness in first
place.
He dethrones Jess Glynne, who falls to two with I Cry When I Laugh,
while Foals' What Went Down and Ella Eyre's Feline are new entries
at three and four, respectively. Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour
rounds out the top five at five.
