Justin Bieber fans fall victim to online scam
Justin Bieber has been dealt a further blow during his beleaguered trip to the U.K. after it emerged a number of fans were duped into buying fake tickets to meet the pop star at his London shows.
The Baby hitmaker is currently playing a four-night residency at London's O2 Arena, but the tour has been overshadowed by controversy after he showed up late for the first concert, infuriating parents who had to take their young children home before the star appeared on stage.
A number of parents have now spoken out to claim they paid hundreds
for backstage packages so their kids could meet the singer at the
London shows, only to find they had been duped by a scam.
Sue Adams, 45, from Kent, England paid $1,700 for passes for her
two young daughters, but the website which sold the packages never
followed through with the promise.
She tells the London Evening Standard, "We paid in full right away.
A week later we got a receipt in the post and were told the tickets
would arrive about eight weeks before the concert. They never came.
We have been conned... My daughters were just distraught. They had
been counting down the days to see Justin and suddenly it hasn't
happened."
Sally Kirby, 45, who also fell victim to the scam, insists the
parents are taking their case to the authorities, adding, "We are
going to the police. This is a scam and other people should be
warned."
