Justin Bieber breaks down in tears during Purpose performance
Justin Bieber broke down in tears as he performed in Frankfurt, Germany, on Wednesday night (16Nov16).
The 22-year-old singer was belting out the title track from his album Purpose during his concert at Festhalle Frankfurt when the emotion of the rendition became too much to handle.
Fan footage of the concert shows Justin stopping the performance
mid-song to wipe tears from his eyes with his Metallica
T-shirt.
To the soundtrack of the audience screaming as he flashed his
washboard abs while lifting up his top, Justin was seen smiling
bashfully as he attempted to control himself.
Justin then continued with the performance but as his fans sang the
track back to him, the singer was forced to stop the performance
again as he was seen struggling to hold back his tears.
With his hands on his waist, Justin exhaled and composed himself
before concluding the song as pyrotechnics lit up the stage.
Wednesday's concert wasn't the first time Justin has hit the
headlines with a weepy performance. During his performance of What
Do You Mean at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2015, Justin broke
down as the enormity of his comeback hit him.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after the
awards ceremony, Justin attempted to explain his emotional show as
he told the host: "It was just so overwhelming for me. Everything,
the performance, I missed some cues so I was a little disappointed
with that.
"And everyone - the support - I honestly wasn't expecting them to
support me in the way they did. Last time I was at an awards show I
was booed. I've worked so hard at this album, I've worked so hard
at becoming the man I want to become. Then, standing in the
situation, you just can't help but feel judged, so I was just
feeling judged and wanting to win so badly, and wanting to do what
I love so badly, that I just put everything on the line."
