Julianna Margulies countersues former management team
Actress Julianna Margulies has filed a countersuit against her former management team over allegations she reneged on a deal to pay them commission.
The star hired officials at D/F Management to represent her in 2009, and the agents reportedly helped her to land the lead in the Golden Globe-winning legal drama The Good Wife, as well as her role as a spokesmodel for cosmetics brand L'Oreal.
Margulies cut ties with the talent company in April, 2011, but was
sued in July (12) amid claims she failed to pay the organization 10
per cent of her earnings from the two high-profile jobs.
Her former representatives demanded $420,000 in back payments and a
court order forcing Margulies to continue handing over a portion of
her wages as long as she retains the deals.
But the actress is fighting back and this month (Oct12) filed legal
papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court insisting her former
right-hand man, Steve Dontanville, failed to present her with a
written document of his firm's agreement.
She is now seeking unspecified damages for breach of oral contract,
according to The Hollywood Reporter.
