Juanes joins Logic on remix of suicide prevention track
Rapper Logic has recruited Colombian rocker Juanes to give his suicide prevention song a Spanish twist.
The hip-hop star moved viewers of the MTV Video Music Awards in August (17) with his emotional Alessia Cara and Khalid collaboration 1-800-273-8255, which deals with issues of depression and suicidal thoughts.
The song's title is a reference to America's National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number.
Now Juanes has added his vocals to a new remix, aimed at widening the appeal of the track to Spanish-speaking youths and further raise awareness about suicide prevention.
"I think these days when everything's about dancing and having a good time, it's fresh to find a hit song like this one that's talking about serious issues," Juanes told Billboard.com.
The bilingual version of 1-800-273-8255 was released on Friday (13Oct17).
