Johnny Depp kept divorce drama from bandmate Alice Cooper
Johnny Depp never spoke about his bitter divorce drama to his Hollywood Vampires bandmate Alice Cooper while on tour.
The actor, 53, was engaged in a bitter three-month divorce battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, 30, after she filed for divorce in May (16). During the divorce proceedings she accused Johnny of domestic violence, allegations she subsequently withdrew upon reaching a settlement last month (Aug16).
Amid his personal turmoil, the Pirates of the Caribbean star was
touring the world with Alice and Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry in
their supergroup.
However Alice says Johnny entirely ignored his acrimonious divorce
battle while on the road and did not speak to his bandmates about
it once.
"(The divorce) Had nothing to do with it. We never heard about it
on tour. Never talked about it, not once," the School's Out
musician tells TMZ.com. "We went on tour straight away and it was
just fun. Never talked about it, not once. Never seen him in such a
good mood though, he played great every night."
The veteran rocker, 78, added, "He let's it all go off his back.
He's the guitar player in the band and that's all he cared about.
That's kind of what we wanted, we didn't want all the chaos."
In the couple's divorce settlement, Johnny agreed to pay Amber $7
million , money she said she would donate to the Children's
Hospital Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, an
organization which helps victims of domestic violence.
Johnny's representatives stated he would donate the $7 million
direct to the charities, a move Amber's lawyers objected to
claiming it would allow her ex-husband to gain a tax rebate.
Her legal team subsequently requested the actor double the sum he
planned to gift to charity if he continued with his plan to send
the funds straight to the organizations.
