John Mayer not performing at Prince tribute concert
Singer John Mayer has dropped out of performing at Prince's upcoming tribute concert.
The Daughters star was scheduled to hit the stage alongside Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Chaka Khan, and Tori Kelly on Thursday (13Oct16) in St. Paul, Minnesota, but is now "unable to attend," according to a publicist for the Xcel Energy Center venue, where the event will be staged.
Reports have also surfaced suggesting Aguilera may not attend due
to illness, but the rumors have not been confirmed.
The news comes a day after Prince's ex-wife Mayte Garcia joined the
concert line-up, alongside former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole
Scherzinger, the late music icon's former bandmate Andre Cymone and
Portuguese singer Ana Moura, who often joined Prince onstage when
he was performing in Europe.
The concert has been sanctioned by Prince's family members.
The musician died of an accidental drug overdose at his Paisley
Park recording complex in April (16).
