John Legend joins movie musical La La Land

Soul star John Legend is in final negotiations to join Ryan Gosling and [EMMA STONE] in upcoming movie musical La La Land.

The All of Me hitmaker is heading to the big screen for the comedy drama, which features Gosling and Stone as two aspiring artists who fall in love while trying to find fame in Los Angeles.

Although Legend scored an Oscar for his track Glory with Common for Selma earlier this year (15), this marks the singer's second foray into acting. He previously had a small role in Samuel L. Jackson's 2008 film, Soul Men.

The project reunites Gosling and Stone, who previously starred in Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad together, as well as J.K. Simmons and his Whiplash director Damien Chazelle, who is set to helm the film.

La La Land is slated to hit cinemas in July, 2016.
