John Legend and Chrissy Teigen wed before Italian ceremony

R&B star John Legend and model Chrissy Teigen have revealed they tied the knot in a New York City courthouse before jetting off to Italy for their lavish Lake Como nuptials.

The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony last month (14Sep13) in front of family and close friends, but before arriving in Italy, the newlyweds made it official in the U.S.

Just days before their wedding, the two were in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week, and after attending the Vera Wang show, they decided to go to a courthouse and legally tie the knot, according to E! News.

While their U.S. ceremony was even more intimate, with just one friend on hand as a witness, their Italian ceremony was attended by Kanye West, model/actress Brooklyn Decker, who served as Teigen's maid of honor, and Stevie Wonder, who staged an impromptu performance for the newlyweds.
