John Legend almost broke up with Chrissy Teigen

John Legend nearly broke off his relationship with Chrissy Teigen, but the model refused to let him.

The singer and the 31-year-old have been together for almost 10 years and are parents to 16-month-old daughter Luna, but their time as a couple once nearly came to an end.

In an interview with The Guardian, Legend reveals his decision to call time on the romance did not go down too well with Teigen, who eventually managed to change his mind.

“I was really stressed and busy,” the 38-year-old told the publication. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.’”

The star revealed that Teigen has been a good influence on him overall.

“She pushes me to be funnier, not because she’s trying to, I think it’s just being around her," he added. "And to be bolder."

The pair tied the knot in 2013 during a lavish ceremony in Italy.
