John Boyega shows off Michael Jackson-style dance moves

Written by . Published: November 30 2017

John Boyega channeled his inner Michael Jackson during a TV appearance on Wednesday night (29Nov17).

The actor was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the pair discussed topics including people's obsessions with their phones and keeping tight-lipped over Star Wars plot secrets.

However, part way through the interview, host Jimmy went to a video filmed by John's Star Wars: The Last Jedi castmate Daisy Ridley.

"We have a question from a fan that we have videotaped. I think her name is Daisy. Daisy, what's your question?" He said, while Daisy replied, "Please show Jimmy your breakout dance move of the wrap party."

John initially threw his head in his hands, but then asked the programme's house band The Roots to play some music he can "vibe" to, and they settled on Jackson's 1982 hit Billie Jean.

The 25-year-old then took to the stage and performed some of the late popstar's signature spins and pelvic thrusts.

In addition to dancing, John also revealed during the chat that he really enjoys shopping at the supermarket, but prefers to go at nighttime now in case he gets recognized by fans.

"I decided the best way to do it is to find a 24-hour spot, go at 2.30am and you're all good. I've been caught a few times and I never go in casual clothes - I'm always in a robe and some slippers," he smiled. "I've got to be comfortable, it's too late for that. People are like, 'That can't be the guy from Star Wars, he wouldn't be here.' It's the best invisibility cloak."

Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is due to hit cinemas from 13 December.
