John Boyega had Han Solo doll tweaked and signed by Harrison Ford
John Boyega walked away from the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens with an extra special memento after asking Harrison Ford to sign his personal Han Solo toy figure.
The franchise newcomer, who portrays male lead Finn in the new sequel, was a huge fan of George Lucas' sci-fi films when he was a kid, and he has continued to collect memorabilia from the Star Wars world even after his casting by new director J.J. Abrams.
However, one souvenir of Harrison's character Han Solo in a
Stormtrooper outfit has since become priceless after John
approached the original trilogy star's stylist to make the figure's
face more recognizable - and then had the movie veteran autograph
it.
"I bought that figure for £50 and it didn't look like Harrison, the
eyes were weird," he tells news show Access Hollywood Live. "So I
had it redesigned by his own personal stylist, who'd done the mark
by the nose. I just wanted it to look exactly like him, so he was
charmed into signing it. He said, 'That looks like me, I'll sign
it!'"
Now John, 23, has his very own Star Wars action figure to be proud
of - and he still can't quite believe it.
"It's so crazy because I grew up buying these Black Series
toys...," he admits, "and it's surreal to see myself on the
box."
