Matthew Morrison delaying family plans after week with niece
Actor Matthew Morrison has been put off the idea of starting a family soon after spending a week running around after his wife's young niece.
The former Glee star celebrated his first wedding anniversary with wife Renee Puente in October (15) and they had been thinking of trying for kids sooner rather than later.
However, Matthew confesses they have since postponed their baby
plans after getting a taste of parenthood by babysitting Renee's
niece.
"We actually were gonna start kind of soon, but then we had our
five-year-old niece stay with us for a week and we were like, 'Ah,
I think we're gonna push it back just a little bit!'" he laughs on
breakfast show Today.
The 37 year old began dating Renee in 2011 and they married in
Hawaii last year (14).
Matthew has enough to keep him busy in 2016 - he wraps his stint in
Broadway's Finding Neverland musical in late January (16), and is
preparing to launch his own performing arts high school in his
native California.
The actor/singer attended the Orange County High School of the Arts
as a teenager and he recently revealed he is using his alma mater
as a blueprint for his new educational facility.
"The director (of the Orange County High School of the Arts)... and
I have been talking about it (starting a school for) a long time...
because (my high school is) such a great model," he told late night
host Seth Meyers.
"Next year, we are launching the California School of the Arts San
Diego and the year after that it's going to be (in)... South Bay...
We're going to do it in California for a little bit and see how
those work and then hopefully make it a nationwide thing."
