Joanne Froggatt would love Downtown Abbey movie to enjoy a "little cast reunion"

Joanne Froggatt would love to star in a Downtown Abbey movie so the cast could enjoy a 10 week reunion.

The British actress who played lady's maid Anna Bates on the acclaimed British drama series has spoken about how all of her cast members would love to see the show made into a movie.

Joanne has been promoting her new show Liar with co-star Ioan Gruffudd and spoke to Variety magazine at the Television Critics Association summer press panel on Saturday (29July17).

The 36-year-old actress expressed she would love the chance to have a "little reunion" with all of her cast members but they were somewhat in the dark as to when the movie would be made.

“Selfishly, it would be great to get together for ten weeks and have a little reunion,” she confessed.

“But in all honesty, I have no idea. I absolutely have no idea. There’s been talk, there’s been conversations, but nothing has happened.

"We’re all sort of leaving it up to the gods,” she added.

Since the show aired its final scenes in December 2015, rumors have been circulating that a movie would be in production soon and all of the original cast members were on board.

“I think we’d all like to do it," she insisted. But she added that she felt the series finished on a high and "all good things must come to an end".

The show's creator, Julian Fellowes, revealed earlier this year a script was in the works and there was a vague plan for this to go into production in 2018. His comment was backed up by Michael Edelstein, President of NBCUniversal International Studio who confirmed they were working on a script but had yet to figure out timings because of the actors' schedules.
