Jesy Nelson blames booze for album party outburst

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson burst into tears during an album launch party last week (ends15Nov15) because she was feeling emotional after a night of heavy drinking.

The singer was pictured leaving London nightclub Bodo's Schloss in floods of tears on Wednesday night (11Nov15) following the group's lavish bash for new album Get Weird.

Reports suggested Jesy had a bust-up with her fiance Jake Roche, but when asked about the tearful snaps during an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper, the singer blamed her outburst on the booze.

"Everyone gets drunk and gets emotional", she said, while her bandmate Perrie Edwards added, "It's relatable. Everyone cries when they get drunk. We all need a cuddle. I love when we stick our heads together as a four... We were in the middle of a nightclub and having a moment."

When asked about the unflattering pictures, Jesy replied, "That's life, you're never going to look perfect all day."

Rixton frontman Jake also admitted he had had too much to drink on the night of the party, writing in a post on Instagram.com on Thursday morning (12Nov15), "Had possibly the worst hangover today. One of them where you want to hospitalise yourself and get put on a drip - but Miss Nelson fed me, hydrated me, sang me Little Mix songs when I was vomiting (last bit was a lie). The world is a better place with you (Jesy) in it, genuinely. If you're reading this, please can I have some (energy drink) Lucozade."

Jake proposed to the pop star in July (15) onstage at the Manchester Arena in England with the help of Ed Sheeran, who performed his song Tenerife Sea.

At the time, Jesy wrote on Instagram, "I cannot believe what has just happened! The most surreal moment of my life and everyone that I love most was there to share it with us! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world rite (sic) now literally cannot stop crying! Future Mrs Roche."
