Jessie J partners with MAKE UP FOR EVER for new year-long campaign
Jessie J has covered Frankie Valli's 1967 hit Can't Take My Eyes Off You to launch a new year-long collaboration with MAKE UP FOR EVER.
The cosmetics giant's bosses are using the Bang Bang singer's modern, funky reworking of the song to launch their new initiative, #IAMANARTIST.
"Throughout the year, Make Up For Ever will encourage people
everywhere to celebrate makeup’s power to express, explore and
transform all individuals with the creative movement #IAMANARTIST,"
a new statement reads.
The Flashlight hitmaker, famous for her many transformations,
showcases numerous different looks in the video, including long and
short hair, dark and blonde, plus varying makeup styles from heavy
smoky eyes and dramatic lips to much more natural looks.
“I enjoy revealing different parts of my personality in my look,
which makes MAKE UP FOR EVER such a great partner,” Jessie, 28,
reveals. “The core of the brand is what I am about: creating
characters to showcase who you are, exploring and expressing
yourself in the way you want through makeup, colors and
energy."
She continues, "I definitely feel that my makeup reflects how I
feel. Whether you want to do just a lip or a full-blown smoky eye,
your mood can be reflected in your make up and this is why LIFE IS
A STAGE!”
The video was directed by famed photographer Rankin, who has worked
with Miley Cyrus, Tinie Tempah, Iggy Azalea, and Azealia Banks.
The makeup artist for the project, fashion and runway favorite
Sammy Mourabit, is as excited to be involved as Jessie J,adding,
“It’s so rare to find everything you need in one brand but MAKE UP
FOR EVER has it all, and so it will stay with me forever. I’m
honored to be part of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Tribe and to collaborate
with Jessie J.
"She is fascinating and she represents what an artist in the music
world should be today: a songwriter, a singer and an amazing
performer. She is also a very skilled makeup artist, so our
collaboration is organic, unique, and fantastic."
