Jessica Alba struggled with insecurity until she became a mom
Actress Jessica Alba has opened up about her past struggles with insecurity, revealing it wasn't until she became a mom that she finally felt confident about herself.
The 33-year-old Sin City beauty seemingly exudes confidence on the big screen, magazine covers and red carpet events, but growing up, Alba admits she constantly felt like she wasn't good enough.
In an interview on TV personality Meredith Vieira's talk show on
Wednesday (10Sep14), Alba confessed her feelings of inadequacy
growing up, and said, "My teens and my 20s were particularly
(hard). I wasn't sure of myself. I was always insecure. I always
felt like I need to apologize for myself. I was such a people
pleaser.
"I was always insecure because I never went to college. I always
felt like I wasn't smart enough."
Now Alba has managed to find her confidence, largely due to her two
young daughters and growing business empire, The Honest
Company.
She added, "After I became 30 and a mom of two, I sort of came into
myself as a woman. And now I have a company and I feel better now.
Especially after 30. Although I'm a little sad I won't ever be in
my 20s again."
