Jessica Alba dreams of Honest hotel venture
Actress-turned-lifestyle entrepreneur Jessica Alba would love to expand her Honest brand and open her own hotel.
The Sin City star has established herself as a force in the business world thanks to her hugely successful The Honest Company, which she launched in 2012 with the aim of selling baby products and household items which do not contain harmful substances.
The firm was valued at over $1 billion last year (15), and Alba's
new beauty range was recently reported to have hit $10 million in
sales.
Now the mother-of-two is looking towards the future of the brand,
and she admits moving into the hospitality industry would be a
dream come true.
"I could see an Honest hotel," Alba shared with People.com while
attending Martha Stewart's recent American Made Summit in New York
City, where she served as a guest speaker.
Alba has drawn frequent comparisons to Martha, and the veteran
lifestyle queen admits she and her team have actually considered
branching out into hotels in the past.
"We've broached it, but we haven't done it," she revealed,
prompting Alba to encourage her idea, saying, "I would stay at that
hotel, by the way."
As for the Stewart comparisons, Alba insists she would never try to
take Martha's place in the lifestyle industry.
"I just don't know if you could ever fill those shoes, and I think
it would be silly for anyone to try and do something that's been so
well done," the 35-year-old gushed.
