Jess Glynne & Amy Wadge make it ladies night with double wins at ASCAP Awards
Singers Jess Glynne and Amy Wadge each landed a big double at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Awards in London on Thursday night (10Nov16).
Glynne picked up the Vanguard Award for innovation in music, and the EDM Song trophy for her 2015 debut single Hold My Hand, while Wadge was feted for Thinking Out Loud, the hit song she co-wrote with Ed Sheeran.
The track was named Song of the Year and Top Digital Song at the
prizegiving.
Other winners included the writing team behind Zayn Malik's
breakthrough single Pillowtalk, who claimed the Global Impact Award
and Duran Duran, who picked up the coveted Golden Note Award for
career achievement.
Among the ASCAP Hot 100 Winning Songs, handed out to the
songwriters behind the biggest hits of the past 12 months, were
Thomas William Raybould (The Hills by The Weeknd); Sir Paul
McCartney (FOURFIVESECONDS by Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul
McCartney); Joel Pott (Budapest by George Ezra), and Ella Henderson
(Ghost by Ella Henderson).
