Jeremy Renner protects daughter from limelight
Jeremy Renner doesn't want his little girl to become famous just because her "jackass" father is.
While promoting his upcoming sci-fi drama Story of Your Life at CinemaCon on Thursday (14Apr16), the actor took time to gush about daughter Ava, whom he shares with ex-wife Sonni Pacheco. Jeremy, 45, talked openly about his three-year-old and described fatherhood as "the most important thing" in his life.
The actor recently posted a photo of himself and Ava in his trailer
on the set of Wind River, a thriller he is shooting with Elizabeth
Olsen, but the fiercely private star only revealed a little of the
child's face.
"I still don't expose my baby's face, just to protect her or anyone
in my family (who's) a minor," he told E! News. "I just think
that's not my decision to make. You know what I mean? You don't
need to be world famous just because your... dad is."
He added that it is too early to tell if Ava "has the acting gene"
but he wouldn't stop her pursuing a career in show-business if
that's what she wanted to do.
"I think she's definitely artistic for sure... I first and foremost
want her to be a kid and have a lot of fun," he explained.
In Story of Your Life, Jeremy plays a physicist who is recruited by
the military to try and communicate with aliens that have landed on
earth. Also starring Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker and Michael
Stuhlbarg, the film does not yet have a release date. The movie
solidifies a busy and high-profile year for Jeremy, who stars as
Hawkeye in Captain America: Civil War which is scheduled to be
released next month (May16) and is also set to produce and guest
star in a historic drama Knightfall which will premiere later in
the year (16).
