Jennifer Hudson parts ways with Weight Watchers
Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson has ended her partnership with Weight Watchers after four years as the company's spokesperson.
The Oscar winner has lost over 80 pounds (36 kilograms) in almost four years by following Weight Watchers' calorie-counting system, and now she is parting ways with the company in order to focus on other endeavours.
Hudson announced the split in a statement which reads: "I have
chosen to step away from my role as ambassador and I am excited for
the year to come, with many new projects and lots of new music.
"My experience with Weight Watchers has truly been life changing. I
am grateful for what I have learned throughout the process."
A representative for Weight Watchers adds, "We're confident
Jennifer will remain a Lifetime Member. Jennifer's healthy
lifestyle and successful weight loss has inspired so many - from
her friends and family to our members and staff, as well as people
around the world - and we know that inspiration lives on."
Last year, the 32 year old landed the Leader of the Year Award from
the company's bosses in recognition of her success on the firm's
diet plan, and, in 2011, she opened her own weightloss center in
her native Chicago, Illinois.
Singer Jessica Simpson is currently a spokesperson for the company
as well, having lost over 50 pounds (23 kilograms) with the
program.
