Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks join Alicia Keys film project

Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks are teaming up to star in a new movie produced by Alicia Keys.

The American Idol alumni have joined Jeffrey Wright and Anthony Mackie in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which is being directed and produced by Men of Honor filmmaker George Tillman, Jr.

Keys is serving as co-executive producer on the project, which recently began shooting in Brooklyn, New York and follows two inner-city youths who are forced to fend for themselves after their mothers are taken away by authorities.
