Jay Z to give Tidal a boost with live show
Rapper Jay Z is hoping to give his floundering music service Tidal a boost by streaming a special concert live online for subscribers.
The 99 Problems hitmaker is holding a competition for Tidal users to win tickets to see him perform rare tracks at the exclusive New York gig next month (May15).
Entrants must create and post a playlist on Twitter.com with the
hashtag #TIDALXJAYZ to be in with a chance of attending the
concert, which will be streamed live online.
Tidal artists Jack White and J.Cole have previously performed
similar stunts by using the platform to stream live feeds of their
gigs.
The site, pegged to rival Spotify after its relaunch last month
(Mar15), failed to impress fans and sank out of the iTunes top 700
app chart less than a month after its debut. However, the rapper
insists the service is "doing just fine."
