Jay Z and Beyonce trek on track to be second best-selling tour per show

Jay Z and Beyonce's upcoming On The Run Tour is on track to become the second highest-grossing trek per show in history, despite reports of poor ticket sales.

The hip-hop supercouple is embarking on a joint trek across North America this summer (14) and recent speculation suggested the dates were failing to sell out.

However, according to an analysis by editors at Forbes magazine, the On The Run Tour is on pace to sell one million tickets, equalling a gross total of around $100 million .

With only 20 shows scheduled for the States, this will put Jay Z and Beyonce second only to U2's 360 Tour between 2009 and 2011, which grossed $6.7 million per show.

The couple is expected to rake in nearly $5 million with each performance.

The trek kicks off on Wednesday (25Jun14) in Miami, Florida. Jay Z and Beyonce will make more stops before two dates at the Stade de France in Paris, France in September (14).
