Jay-Z and Beyonce throw star-studded party for album release

Jay-Z and Beyonce threw a glitzy party in New York this week (beg01Jul13) to celebrate the release of the rapper's new album Magna Carta Holy Grail.

The 99 Problems hitmaker teamed up with cell phone giant Samsung to give owners of the company's Galaxy handset the first chance to listen to the record on Thursday (04Jul13), days before its official release next week (09Jul13).

To celebrate the deal, Jay-Z hosted a lavish bash in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday (03Jul13).

The hip-hop star and his wife Beyonce, who features on one of the albums's tracks, danced and drank cocktails with stars including Timbaland, Nick Cannon and Tyson Beckford.

Video footage taken at the event shows Beyonce letting loose on the dancefloor with other partygoers.

Jay-Z surprised fans by announcing the release of his 12th studio album during the NBA (National Basketball Association) finals last month (Jun13).
