Jason Derulo loves 'one-on-one' time with girlfriend

Jason Derulo is a fan of the simple things in life.

The 26-year-old singer started dating model Daphne Joy, the ex of 50 Cent, last year (15), with the pair making their red carpet debut at the People's Choice Awards in January (16). Since then, they have barely left each other's sides, and were seen enjoying a vacation in Mexico earlier this month (Mar16).

Jason added he was blown away by the break the pair enjoyed at Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis' house in Punta Mita, as the property "was right on the water and had a full staff."

However, when it comes to his usual date nights with his stunning girlfriend, Jason prefers to keep things a little more casual.

"I love the simple things," he told People.com "I like just kicking back and getting that one-on-one time, watching a movie at the house, or she (Daphne) cooks dinner. She's an unbelievable cook!"

Jason was speaking as he was unveiled as the official host of the iHeartRadio Music Awards, set to take place on 3 April (16). The ceremony will mark the first time the R&B singer has presented such an occasion on his own, and while he's feeling a touch nervous about it, he's also very excited.

"I have a little bit of nerves," he shared. "It's something new, it's something a little different. I've co-hosted some award shows overseas before, but never hosted on my own, so that's brand new."

The Florida-born star is also looking forward to seeing the celebrity performers at the star-studded event.

"I'm excited," he said. "It's an amazing celebration. iHeart always brings out the biggest artists in the world. I listen to all of the performers – you've got Pitbull, you've got Justin Bieber, you've got Meghan Trainor. There's no shortage!"
