Jamie Foxx eyes return to TV with new comedy
Jamie Foxx is hoping to make a return to TV after bosses at Showtime ordered a pilot for his new sitcom.
The Oscar winner is an executive producer on White Famous, a half-hour comedy based on an original idea from Foxx. The story centers on a young black comedian as he struggles with his rise to stardom.
"I came up from stand-up comedy, so to be able to share that aspect
of my life on screen with a project like White Famous is incredibly
exciting," Foxx said in a statement.
If picked up to series, Foxx will have a recurring role on the
show. The actor, who began his career as a stand-up comedian,
hasn't been a regular on the small screen since his hit The Jamie
Foxx Show ended its five season run in 2001. He was also a regular
on cult 1990s sketch comedy show In Living Color.
