James Corden wants Adele Carpool Karaoke special
The Late Late Show host James Corden wants to release a special edition of the program's Carpool Karaoke segment featuring Adele.
The soul superstar's appearance on the show in January (16) has proved popular with fans, with a video of Adele and James singing behind the wheel gaining over 86 million views on YouTube.
However James says the 15 minute clip represents just a fraction of
the hilarious material the pair filmed together and he would like
to offer fans the chance to see more of Adele belting out her
favourite songs.
"Adele was great: the edit we had on show was nearly 15 minutes but
we could do a director's cut of more than an hour," he tells
Britains Metro newspaper.
Carpool Karaoke's popularity has reportedly led to U.S. TV
executives making plans to produce a spin-off series. The new show
would not feature the British funnyman as host, according to The
Hollywood Reporter.
The potential new series comes after another late night TV segment
found success as a stand-alone show, Lip Sync Battle which began
life as a feature on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Speaking about his TV success, the British funnyman cited his
motorised duets with Adele as a moment which made him feel
privileged in his role as a late night host.
"I've been lucky," he says. "But it's just a fun show. I'm usually
sat there thinking: 'This is a privilege.' I'm talking to Tom Hanks
or singing in a car with Adele."
James marked his one year anniversary as the host of The Late Late
Show on Wednesday (16Mar16) by leaving the studio behind to film
the show at a fan's house.
Guests Colin Farrell, Demi Lovato and Wanda Sykes joined the
comedian and actor on the makeshift TV set at the home of a viewer
named Natalie.
