James Corden joins Meghan Trainor onstage for duet
Pop star Meghan Trainor surprised fans at her Los Angeles concert on Friday (22Jul16) by inviting British comedian James Corden to join her onstage.
The Into The Woods actor and talk show host has become known for his popular Carpool Karaoke segments on his The Late Late Show, during which he and his special guests sing along to hits while riding in a car.
On Friday, James got the chance to show off his vocals onstage at
the Greek Theatre, where Meghan performed as part of her
Untouchable Tour, as they teamed up for a rendition of her 2015
song Like I'm Gonna Lose You, which originally featured John
Legend.
Fans cheered the stars on as they belted out the track, with Corden
taking on Legend's part of the tune.
After the show, Meghan took to Twitter.com to thank her pal for
joining in, writing, "@JKCorden you are an absolute legend. Thank
you SO MUCH for singing with me last night at the @Greek_Theatre.
I'll never forget it."
Meghan also treated fans at Friday night's gig to her take of
Drake's One Dance hit.
The 22-year-old previously collaborated with James on a parody of
her breakout single All About That Bass, changing the title to All
About That Change to usher in the New Year (16).
Lyrics in the revamped tune included Corden singing, "It's pretty
clear I ain't no size two/But I just joined a gym like I'm supposed
to do.../Cause I got that boom boom walkin' up the staircase/And
all the wrong junk in all the wrong places."
The video for the funny track has since garnered more than 7.2
million views online.
