Jake Gyllenhaal finally answers a question about ex Taylor Swift
Jake Gyllenhaal has finally answered a question about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, after years of avoiding the topic of his former romance during interviews.
The 36-year-old actor and the 27-year-old singer dated for just three months in 2010, but the relationship was enough to inspire some of Taylor's songs including All Too Well.
Despite the brief dalliance having taken place seven years ago, Jake is frequently questioned about his one-time love, but has always managed to avoid answering.
However, during a Facebook Live session with Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, who Jake plays in biographical drama Stronger, the subject of Taylor was once again raised.
After discussing their favorite Boston restaurants and movies, Jeff then shifted the conversation to the Look What You Made Me Do singer, asking with reference to his own injuries from the bombing: "If you lost your legs in real life, do you think Taylor Swift would write a song about it?"
Jake then asked, "For me, or about it?", to which Jeff answered, "For you. Like a country song."
Considering the question for a brief second, Jake then replied: "She sort of moved more into pop now."
Taylor previously spoke about the romance during an interview with Vanity Fair magazine in 2012, in which she hinted at the heartache that she'd suffered when Jake called time on their romance.
“I got nothing going on! I just don’t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that,” she said, adding, “I am not gonna go into it! It’s a sad story!”
While Taylor has been more open about the romance, Jake has stopped reporters in their tracks when he's been asked about the relationship in the past. During an interview with Britain's The Guardian newspaper earlier this year, Jake started saying, "I think when you're in a relationship, you are constantly scrutinised, your friends are scrutinised, but...," before trailing off. When the journalist dared to ask a follow-up question about Taylor, Jake hit him with a stony stare and replied: "I would love to not talk about my personal life."
