Jaime King: 'I enjoyed Kanye's fashion show up to a point'

Actress Jaime King has spoken out about Kanye West's latest Taylor Swift diss, insisting it ruined her enjoyment of the rapper's fashion show and album launch in New York on Thursday (11Feb16).

The Pearl Harbor star was in the audience for the gig at Madison Square Garden, where Kanye unveiled tracks from his upcoming release T.L.O.P.

But she was taken aback by one new tune, titled Famous, because it featured what appeared to be an attack on West's former rival Taylor, who is godmother to Jaime's son Leo.

The offending lyrics - "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why, I made that b**ch famous - prompted King to delete a video she had posted from the event on Instagram, and she later took to Twitter.com and wrote, "I'm so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always."

Jaime was asked for a further reaction to Kanye's showcase when she was spotted by a WWD.com reporter at Jason Wu's New York Fashion Week event on Friday (12Feb16) and simply said, "No comment", before adding, "I enjoyed it up until certain moments."

King wasn't the only member of Taylor's inner circle who attended West's fashion show and listening party - Gigi Hadid was also upset by the lyrics. She tweeted: "My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty."

Meanwhile, Kanye has insisted Swift came up with the idea for the provocative Famous lyric, stating, "I did not diss Taylor Swift and I've never dissed her... First thing is I'm an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship... 2nd thing I asked my wife (Kim Kardashian) for her blessings and she was cool with it...

"3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo (conversation) with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings... 4th B**ch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word N**ga... 5th thing I'm not even gone take credit for the idea... it's actually something Taylor came up with... She was having dinner with one of our friends who's (sic) name I will keep out of this and she told him... I can't be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS."

A representative for Taylor insists the rap star has his facts wrong, revealing the singer cautioned him about releasing a song with such "a strong misogynistic message..." and adding, "Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that b**ch famous'."
