Singer Jack Johnson has rewarded eco-minded students for their recycling efforts by performing at two schools in his native Hawaii.
The Upside Down hitmaker recently made a special trip to Waiakea Elementary School in Hilo to reward pupils for launching a school-wide recycling program.
And last week (ends29Apr12), Johnson also paid a visit to the Ewa
Makai Middle School on Oahu to play a surprise concert at an
assembly, before taking a tour of the campus with his wife Kim and
posing for pictures with students.
The eco-friendly Ewa Makai school boasts an organic garden, a
butterfly atrium and a compost pipeline for the cafeteria's food
waste.
