Hilary Duff thanks fans for support following marriage split
Actress/singer Hilary Duff has thanked fans for their support after announcing her split from husband Mike Comrie.
The Cheaper by the Dozen star revealed on Friday (10Jan14) that she had parted ways with the retired ice hockey player after more than three years of marriage.
In a statement, Duff's representative claimed the former couple
would remain close for the sake of its son Luca, who turns two in
March (14), and the 26 year old proved the break-up really was
amicable after reaching out to devotees on Twitter.com - with
Comrie by her side.
In a Twitter post on Friday evening, she wrote, "Mike and I are
sitting here,we are so appreciative for all of your kindness& well
wishes. Not an easy day but we're getting thru (sic) it
together".
A report on Eonline.com suggests Duff and Comrie simply drifted
apart, despite attempting to salvage their relationship by
attending couple's therapy.
The pair wed in August, 2010 after three years of dating.
