Harry Potter letter up for auction
A letter featured in the film Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone is set to go under the hammer in London on Wednesday (23Sep15).
The note informs Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe, that he has been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was featured in the 2001 movie.
The artifact is expected to fetch $6,400 at the Prop Store’s
Entertainment Memorabilia Auction. Stephen Lane, CEO of the Prop
Store, says, "Harry’s invitation to Hogwarts marks a key moment in
the young man’s life, and kicked off one of the most successful
film franchises in history. Cinemagoers followed Harry’s adventures
through eight films, and the sale of this invitation represents a
chance to connect with the wizarding world in an unprecedented way.
The invitation is a small piece of film history."
More than 450 items from 150 films and TV shows will be sold at the
auction on Wednesday, held at the Odeon BFI IMAX in London.
