Gwen Stefani performs on The Voice after ruptured eardrum drama
Gwen Stefani proved she was back to her best as she covered Coldplay on Tuesday night's (02May17) episode of The Voice after rupturing her eardrum last month.
The No Doubt frontwoman's injury is said to have occurred on a flight on 25 April, leading to her undergoing treatment at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and canceling a planned performance at a Las Vegas gala two days later.
But after resting and recuperating, Gwen returned to the stage on the talent show, on which she is a judge, to perform the British band's track Fix You with her contestants.
The singer looked stunning in a jewel-embellished white top and white jeans as she belted out the song alongside Brennley Brown and Hunter Plake.
Luckily the performance was enough to convince viewers that Brennley and Hunter deserved to stay in the competition, with Alicia Keys' contestant Stephanie Rice the unlucky contestant sent home.
Gwen's performance came after her boyfriend and fellow The Voice judge Blake Shelton offered an update on her condition.
"She's getting better," he told Entertainment Tonight. "Something like that is just slow, when you pop-blow your eardrum out, I don't even know how that happens. But, she says she can hear now."
As well as returning to the stage, Gwen also posted on social media as she headed back to The Voice. Sharing a video of herself with fellow judges Blake, Alicia and Adam Levine, Gwen wrote: "#thisismylife #solucky @nbcthevoice #enjoyingthemoment gx."
However, she will have to get used to the fact that Alicia isn't going to be back as a judge on the show for the next season, as she has stepped down from the position to focus on her new album.
"I'm about halfway," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm ready for the next one already, which was kind of the plan the whole time... and my next body of work is already in the works. I'm excited!
"I can't wait for you to hear new music, and so that's one of the reasons why I won't be able to come back next season."
